This place is so awesome! It’s amazing to just sit and enjoy the place. I love looking at all the old/new magic books and other trinkets. The lighting, music, and overall atmosphere is very cool and relaxing. Will definitely return, I highly recommend!
Fantastic magic shop in NYC. Ordered magic from them 45;years ago., had to come see it in person. A nice experience for any seasoned magician or anyone interested in prestidigitation!

OMG, I am in love! When I saw the address, I thought this might be touristy. Definitely not. If you don't know it is there, you will not find it! As it should be. Thank you to the Staff, Max, for his professional service, awesome recommendations for my niece. This shop was a true find. One of the specialty shops that makes NYC the greatest city in the world! It's a bit of a search but, oh boy, what a great gem awaits you once you step through the doors of Tannen's Magic! Tailored to the more knowledgeable and trained magicians and magic enthusiasts out there, although there's more than helpful staff to help you find something amazing even for the hopeless wanderer (like me). The store is chock-full of memorabilia and posters, creating a great of mystery and wonder. In the display cabinets there are multitudes of tricks, cards, and other wonderful, magical must-haves. For the literary enthusiasts and students of magic there are finally stacks of magic encyclopedias to become the next Alexander or Houdini, or both.
Appropriately hard to find. Incredibly well stocked shop. Max was awesome, showing our ten year old lots of fascinating tricks.

I went to an after hours magic show here and it was INCREDIBLE!! Not only was the magic impressive, but it was a great atmosphere. A small place tucked away in the corner of a building, but it has a life of its own. The Magician was awesome and all of the staff were kind and helpful. It really was worth the money and was a great experience that I definetly can't get at home. A great addition to my NYC trip!!!
